Jimdo

Jimdo is a website editor that lets users quickly create pages with pictures, text, video, and customized design.

Jimdo uses AJAX in its interface and has a feature for copying other sites’ designs. Jimdo caters to less technical users through its straightforward interface.

Jimdo started as a group of three friends selling basic site creation tools for the enterprise. The site creation tools developed into a consumer version and now they have over 100,000 users and sites in seven different languages (German, English, Chinese, French, Italian, Spanish and Russian).

In March 2008 Jimdo added Social Features and since May 7, 2008 a blogging platform is available within Jimdo. Thus, users can create their own Blog within their Jimdo-Page.

Competitors include Weebly, Sampa, RealEditor and Synthasite.

The JimdoFree version is hosted on Jimdo with a “dot Jimdo” URL address. The version has less storage than the premium version and comes with integrated ads. The integrated ads consisting of two text links don’t detract too much from page theme and style.

It would be even better they they actually had a full functioning customer support for the individuals who pay for the pro account. So far if anyhting happens you get no help
