Meraki

Meraki came out of a research project at MIT back in 2006. Started with the intent to help create and expand affordable internet access to people around the world, Meraki has grown rapidly from its modest roots. It started with one network in Cambridge, Massachusetts and is now in 70 countries no more than a year later.

Meraki is funded by Sequoia Capital, DAG Ventures, Northgate Capital, and Google. It received a $20 million series B in part to provide all of San Francisco, CA with free wireless broadband internet access.

I'm the activity director at Wharf Plaza I and II and Mission Plaza in San Francisco. Is there free wireless now available? Our location is 1855 Kearny and 16th and Mission. Thank you. Our elderly are very anxious to learn how to surf the net. Patty Huffman Activity Director and Social Service Coordinator Wharf Plaza I & !! & Mission Plaza 415-420-7108
