Sclipo is a social learning network for teaching through video & webcam, and meeting people of common interests.

At Sclipo, people and organizations can teach students, friends or customers by uploading educational videos (tutorials, lectures, etc.) as well as through live, personalized webcam classes about any topic. Sclipo’s innovative live webcam class system enables members to easily schedule appointments, charge fees, and even re-watch their live classes later for additional practice.

For quick user browsing, each posted video is put into an “educational-area” category like Design & Animation, Sports, and Web & Technology. Users can also browse videos by most viewed, best rated, most commented, etc.

Users can also search for educational videos using skill keywords, like “basketball” or “dancing”, or by browsing instructor channels, called Academies.

Due to the fact that video viewers come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, they have recently launched a new live video instructions feature. This is a great feature for people that need further clarification.

Sessions are listed in categorical directories with the session time, instructor and price. Live sessions consist of video feeds and chat between the instructor and student that are recorded and synced with chat for later review. Students can rate the instructor on session completion. Anyone can sign-up as an instructor and name their instructing price.

The site comes available in three languages English, Spanish and German. Competitors include SuTree and 5Min. Similar sites with a professional twist include Ether and Wengo.
