A veteran of the Financial Services industry, Amir Weiss has spent most of his career driving change and digital transformation. Working across verticals and organizations, Amir has always seen technology as a way to unlock opportunities and create value for customers, partners, and enterprises. Both practical and creative, Amir is driven to solve
business issues through the lens of technology. With a focus on data and results, Amir has helped many brands dramatically improve sales & revenue, drive customer acquisition metrics, and realize cost savings.
Asking “why” and questioning the norm, Amir has helped pioneer many of the insurance industry’s innovations over the last 25 years. As Senior Vice President & Global Head of Digital at MetLife, Amir built a new online sales channel for Life, Auto, and Home Insurance, growing revenue to over $400 MM and tripling sales in target programs within 3 years.
In 2015, Amir joined Hawthorne Advisors, a boutique advisory firm helping carriers and distributors develop and execute on their business strategies. Focused on evolving market segments, new technology capabilities, distribution and digital channels for financial services products, Amir helped incubate new and innovative businesses and concepts for his Fortune 500 clients.
Amir Recently co-founded Plum Life, a new and disruptive force in the insurance industry and serves as the company’s CIO. Plum Life is an all-digital life insurance solution for advisors and their clients.
Amir holds a B.A. in Economics from Brandeis University and an MBA from Columbia University
