Amrit Chaudhuri is a founder and life sciences infrastructure entrepreneur. He co-founded SmartLabs and served as Chief Executive Officer and later Chairman, building one of the first institutional Lab-as-a-Service platforms for biotechnology research. Under his leadership the company scaled to more than $120M in annual revenue, a $1.25B valuation,
and raised over $400M from institutional investors including Cascade Investment, Nuveen-TIAA, and Arrowmark.
Earlier, Chaudhuri founded Advanced Peptides, a peptide therapeutics CRO/CDMO supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic research programs. Across his ventures he has led organizations generating more than $600M in revenue and has worked with clients including Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Eli Lilly, AbbVie, Bayer, and AstraZeneca.
He currently serves as Managing Partner of Kaliper, advising investors, developers, and governments on life sciences infrastructure, laboratory real estate, and research campus development. Chaudhuri also co-founded Exycute, a life sciences advisory platform that has worked alongside institutional capital partners deploying more than $5B across industry initiatives.
Chaudhuri serves on the Life Sciences Real Estate Advisory Board of the New York City Economic Development Corporation and has held leadership and advisory roles supporting research commercialization initiatives at the University of Pittsburgh. He studied biomedical engineering at Boston University and conducted early research at the Whitehead Institute. He is the recipient of the Inc. Magazine Top 20 Innovators in Healthcare recognition and is an inventor on U.S. Patent 9,505,820 B2.
