Andrew is the Co-Founder and Product Manager of Drug Discovery at FluidForm, which uses 3D printing to build living human tissue to improve the treatment of disease. As a cutting-edge biomedical researcher, he is focused on developing the next generation of 3D bioprinting technology to improve the clinical translation potential of tissue engineered
therapies.
Throughout his academic career, he has co-written and published several papers on 3D bioprinting and tissue engineering including 3D bioprinting of collagen to rebuild components of the human heart and Three-dimensional printing of complex biological structures by freeform reversible embedding of suspended hydrogels. During his time at Carnegie Mellon University, he co-developed a new 3D printing technique known as FRESH to improve extrusion-based 3D bioprinting resolution by an order of magnitude.
Andrew holds a BS in Materials Science and Engineering, a BS in Biomedical Engineering, a MS in Biomedical Engineering, and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
