Callie Lissinna has 2 years of experience nanosatellite design, in-orbit operations, and engineering project management. She led the late commissioning and early science phases of orbital operations for AlbertaSat’s Ex-Alta 1 satellite, and headed the preliminary mechanical design of Ex-Alta 2. While getting her mechanical engineering degree at the
University of Alberta she has won numerous awards for academic excellence, including the second largest academic entrance scholarships across all faculties at the University. As a student researcher in numerous labs she has worked on 3D printing technologies, supercapacitors, and nanosatellite microthrusters. She has held speaking engagements about nanosatellites and the Ex-Alta missions across the country and internationally, and this year was named one of the “35 Faces of WISEST” by Women in Scholarship, Engineering, Science, and Technology for being an influential woman in the University of Alberta STEM community.
