Dr. Richard Selden, MD, PhD is the Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of ANDE. For over a decade, Dr. Selden has worked on bringing revolutionary DNA testing systems to the public and private sectors. Particularly since ANDE was awarded the competitive Accelerated Nuclear DNA Equipment contract in 2009, the company has been able to build
transformational technology in Rapid DNA testing.
Initially, the ANDE research and development program was focused on the generation of DNA fingerprints from cheek swab samples. Today, the system can process a wide range of sample types, including bloodstains, tissues and organs, and investigative samples. ANDE's Rapid DNA Analysis System is currently the only Rapid DNA Product to receive National DNA Index System (NDIS) approval from the U.S. FBI.
Dr. Richard Selden has an extensive background in professional leadership, business development, and team building. He has built successful commercial relationships with a broad range of institutions, from Fortune 50 companies to small start-ups.
Dr. Richard Selden received his BA degree from Harvard College, MA and PhD degrees in Genetics from the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and MD from Harvard Medical School. He trained as a pediatrician at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Richard Selden is an author of over 35 scientific publications and an inventor of over 40 US patents.
