Riza Berkan is the Founder, President and Project Scientist at exClone Inc. since January 2011. Riza is a nuclear scientist by training with a specialization in artificial intelligence and fuzzy logic.
Riza is the author the book Fuzzy Systems Design Principles published by IEEE, and published over 100 scientific articles on artificial
intelligence, neural networks, fuzzy logic, and semantics. Riza has a decade of experience in semantic search technologies and startups like AnswerChase, hakia, and MoodTrade. Riza was nominated in the Executive Council of New York’s TEN Awards for Best “Up and Comer”, a prestigious award honoring the best senior executives in New York City, in 2009.
Previously, Riza was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Member of the Board of Directors of Hakia Inc.
Between 1990 and 2000, Riza worked for the US Government and handled multiple Lockheed Martin Energy Systems and Westinghouse projects.
Riza holds a B.S. degree in Physics from Hacettepe University, Turkey and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tennessee with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence.
