Dr. Frank Tiano is a visionary leader and educator with more than 25 years of experience as a successful superintendent of schools, educational leader, school administrator, and a strategic planner for improvement at the school and district level. Dr. Tiano works for the Framingham Public Schools in Framingham, Massachusetts. Over the course of
his career, Frank has served in a number of roles including superintendent, assistant superintendent, principal and teacher. Regardless of the position he holds, Frank brings the same determination and commitment to staff and students that has helped him excel throughout his career.
Instructional leadership, management and operations, community engagement, and professional culture are four of Frank Tiano’s areas of expertise. As an instructional leader, Frank created a system of continuous analysis and response that resulted student growth in ELA and Math. In the area of management and operations, Frank has led the revision of an emergency response system in coordination with first responders. Engaging with the community has always been a cornerstone of Frank Tiano’s work. Part of this work has included strengthening the connections between outside social organizations and the school community. As an advocate of professional culture, Frank has provided professional development on adaptive leadership, difficult conversations, data driven analysis, and emotional intelligence.
