Gordon Campbell brings a wealth of experience and expertise in founding, building and successfully launching a wide range of technology-based enterprises. He has repeatedly taken early stage concepts from start-up to high volume revenue and profits, creating over $5 billion of market value in the process.
Mr. Campbell began his career as Intel’s
first Corporate Marketing Manager moving into managing one of the company’s largest divisions. He left Intel to found SEEQ Technology, which became a leading manufacturer and the developer of the industry’s first Ethernet chip. Following SEEQ, Campbell founded and became Chairman and CEO of CHIPS and Technologies, the world’s first fabless semiconductor company. CHIPS and Technologies was instrumental in pioneering the PC-compatible computer marketplace that early customers such as Hewlett-Packard and Dell now dominate. As a result of his success at CHIPS and Technologies, Mr. Campbell was named Inc. Magazine’s 1989 “Entrepreneur of the Year”.
In his 40-year career, Mr. Campbell has also served on the Board of Directors for 3COM, Bell Micro, and Palm, and has founded, invested in, and been involved with a number of highly successful start-ups, including CHIPS and Technologies, 3dfx Interactive, Cobalt Networks, HotRail, NetMind, PortalPlayer and Resonate.
In honor of this repeated success, the FSA named Mr. Campbell as the 2007 recipient of the Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award.
