After his MBA, Joey founded Baja Int’l and attracted Sony, Target, Nine West, Sears, and Mervyn's as partners. After a successful exit at Baja, Joey started a private VC firm, Alanah Energy where he developed and applied his proprietary hedging methods towards private oil and gas investments. He then founded Southern Star Enterprises LLC, a
successful oil and gas exploration company based in Oklahoma. Compelled to grow and capitalize on larger opportunities in oil and gas, Joey founded Ascenergy - the next level of oil and gas investments.
With Ascenergy, Joey has been able to meld his philanthropic drive and business acumen in a novel energy business model. Designed with investors in mind, Joey’s focus is on building success for both investors and the company while operating responsibly toward the environment and our planet. When he’s not working, he enjoys hiking, the outdoors, wildlife and constantly researching optimizing health.
