Mr. John Herman Myers is a Senior Advisor and Partner at Angelo, Gordon & Co. He also serves as a Partner and Director of Point Capital - Forstmann & Co. LLC. Mr. Myers served at the General Electric Company for 37 years in a variety of roles. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer at GE Asset Management, from 1996 to his
retirement on September 1, 2006. At GE Asset Management, Mr. Myers was responsible for approximately $200 billion in assets under management for clients including GE’s Pension Funds, 401(K) plans, Mutual Funds and Insurance Companies as well as more than 200 external institutional clients.
Mr. Myers joined GE Asset Management in 1986 as an Executive Vice President, with responsibility for the fixed income, private equity, and real estate groups. His GE career spanned 37 years beginning in 1970 on GE’s Financial Management Program, then offshore assignments in Germany and Italy, and returning to the United STates in GE’s operating businesses. In 1981, Mr. Myers was appointed Deputy Treasurer of the Company, named a GE Group Manager of Finance in 1984.
He was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy and served two tours of duty in Vietnam as a Line Officer. He currently is a Member of Board of Directors of Legg Mason, Inc since June 2013.
