Joshua Salafsky was the Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of two venture-backed companies, Biodesy and Quanta Therapeutics, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Biodesy developed SHG systems for measuring conformational changes of biomolecules at high throughput and in real time for drug discovery and basic research. These systems were acquired by
Pharma and biotech companies and universities. In 2018, Biodesy became Bluelight Therapeutics. Quanta used these SHG systems to discover inhibitors directed to Ras driver proteins of human cancers. He first detected conformational changes in a biomolecule using SHG in his garage in Burlingame, CA. He is currently the Founder of Skylight Discovery, Inc.
