Jérôme Bibette is Physics “professeur agrégé”, the higher teaching diploma in France, and graduated his PhD from the University of Bordeaux in 1990. When professor at the University of Bordeaux, he studied the synthesis, thermodynamics, rheology and instabilities of colloids and emulsions. He is then named professor at the ESPCI in 2000. Many
industrial developments in pharmaceutics, cosmetics and medical diagnosis are based on his research.
Jérôme Bibette also started several businesses in biotechnologies: Ademtech, RainDance Technologies and Capsum. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the “Materials science Michelin-ESPCI” chair, the Institut Universitaire de France since 1994, and he was rewarded with the silver medal of CNRS in Chemistry in 2000. He is author of more than 120 publications and holds 35 patents.
