Ken Tamagawa is the Co-Founder and CEO of SORACOM, a global IoT connectivity and AI platform company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
Under his leadership, SORACOM has built a platform that connects devices across more than 200 countries and regions, leveraging partnerships with over 500 mobile carriers worldwide — making it one of the most
extensive IoT connectivity platforms in the world. The company operates globally with offices in Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
In 2022, Ken led SORACOM to a successful listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, marking one of Japan's landmark technology IPOs of the year. Ken's entrepreneurial achievements have earned him broad recognition. In 2017, Forbes JAPAN ranked him #2 in their prestigious "Japan Entrepreneur Rankings", and SORACOM has been honored with the Japan Service Award— one of Japan's most respected accolades for service excellence and innovation.
Prior to co-founding SORACOM, Ken held a senior leadership role at Amazon Web Services (AWS) as Sr. Manager of Solution Architecture, Training, and Professional Services, where he built deep expertise in cloud infrastructure and enterprise technology at scale.
Ken holds a dual Master of Software Engineering / Master of Business Administration degree from Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science. Today, Ken is steering SORACOM's next chapter as a Real World AI Platform — integrating AI agent capabilities with IoT infrastructure to bridge the physical and digital worlds at a global scale.
