Dr. Mandell is an ophthalmologist by training with drug development experience spanning multiple therapeutics, drug classes and clinical indications. In total, Dr. Mandell has contributed to the discovery, formulation, preclinical and clinical testing of 17 novel drug formulations and has personally overseen translation of five of these drugs into
clinical development. His experience includes work with a novel tyrosine kinase inhibitor for macular degeneration, sustained-release prostaglandin formulations for glaucoma, sustained-release biologic formulations for orthopedics and wound care, and various topical formulations for ophthalmic and dermatologic applications.
