In December 2012, Marc B. Lautenbach was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Pitney Bowes Inc., a $5.3-billion company that provides software, hardware and services that integrate physical and digital communications channels for organizations worldwide. The company employs approximately 29,000 people.
Before joining Pitney Bowes,
Lautenbach had a long and stellar career at IBM, which he joined in 1985 immediately upon graduating from business school. His leadership roles at IBM included serving as Vice President Small and Medium Business in Asia-Pacific from 1998-2000, General Manager of IBM Global Small and Medium Business from 2000-2005, General Manager of IBM North America from 2005-2010, and Managing Partner, North America, for IBM Global Business Services. In these roles at IBM, Lautenbach led businesses and customer segments with annual revenues ranging from $3 billion to $35 billion, and employee populations ranging from 500 to 50,000. He has extensive experience in building profitable relationships with large enterprises and government agencies as well as small- and medium-size businesses.
