Stanek, who is a chartered financial analyst, has over 35 years of investment management experience and is currently responsible for the development and portfolio management of all fixed income proprietary asset management services for Baird Financial Group. Stanek co-manages several fixed income mutual funds as well as a number of taxable and
tax-exempt portfolios. In addition, Stanek is also a director of Baird Financial Group. Because of her career and experience, Stanek brings significant knowledge and financial expertise about the financial markets to the board and finance committee. In particular, Stanek’s focus on fixed-income investments is valuable because WEC Energy Group and its subsidiaries customarily issue debt securities as a means of raising capital. In addition, Stanek brings experience in dealing with insurance risk management issues through her service as a director of West Bend Mutual Insurance Co. from 1999 until 2014. Stanek’s past and present experience serving on the boards of numerous Milwaukee-area nonprofit institutions provides her with a good understanding of the issues and challenges that impact the Milwaukee region.
