Melinda Masson founded her first company, Merit Property Management, Inc. in her early 20’s, with a single contract for the management of a condominium project. Since then, Ms. Masson has continued to expand her entrepreneurial ventures with 4 more real estate related service companies, eventually consolidating her enterprises into the Merit
Companies. In 2007, Ms. Masson sold Merit Companies to FirstService Corporation (NASDAQ;FSRV;TSX:FSV), a publicly traded company.
Ms. Masson graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Minnesota, with a Bachelor of Applied Sciences. She has received numerous awards, including the Pioneering Women Award from the National Association of Women Business Owners, the Max Tipton Award for California Sales and Marketing, and the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from INC Magazine.
As a mother of 3 as well as a successful entrepreneur, Ms. Masson has always been engaged with philanthropic organizations.
As Chair Elect of the Board of Governor’s for Chapman University, serving on the board of trustees for the Urban Land Institute and conducting strategic planning sessions to enhance business plans, she has developed a deep understanding of philanthropy’s unique challenges. Whether it’s education, health services, the arts, or general community service groups, the common thread is the need for effective fundraising.
In her role as CEO, Ms. Masson leads business planning and strategic partnerships. Known for mergers and acquisitions and the integration of new business models, she continues to unveil new opportunities worldwide to support the greater good, bringing scripsense to every community.
