Professor Mikko Lipasti co-founded Thalchemy in 2012 with two of his former graduate students, Dr. Atif Hashmi and Dr. Andrew Nere. Prof. Lipasti has bootstrapped a substantial and very successful research program at the University of Wisconsin, hiring and successfully managing 28 graduate student employees. His primary research interests include
high-performance, low-power, and reliable microprocessors; networks-on-chip for many-core microprocessors; and fundamentally new, biologically-inspired models of computation. He is a noted consultant with industry leaders on microprocessor architectures, is a member of the International Symposium on Computer Architecture (ISCA) Hall of Fame and the International Symposium on Microarchitecture (MICRO) Hall of Fame, has published more that 100 papers in journals and refereed conference proceedings, and is an inventor on 6 issued US patents
