Founded in 2000 the Change Partners project and has led it ever since. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the companies that make up the Change Partners group as well as several subsidiaries.
Among the various positions held are: Member of the Board of Directors of Sonae Capital (2007-2010), BA Glass (since 1998) and BPI (1995-2000).
Between 2006 and 2008 he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of APCRI and as Board Member of EVCA, European Venture Capital Association.

He graduated in Economics from the Faculty of Economics of Porto (1975) and, in 1989, attended the AMP (Advanced Management Program) at INSEAD. After graduation, he was a professor in the area of macroeconomics at the Faculty of Economics of Porto until 1983.
He joined Banco Totta & Açores in 1982 as a financial analyst. In 1984 he joined the SPI / BPI project, being admitted to the credit area.
