Noam Freedman is Vice President of Networks and Chief Network Architect at Akamai. With over fifteen years of experience in management and technical leadership roles, Mr. Freedman has responsibility for Akamai's Network organization.
Akamai's Network organization has staff in thirteen countries to manage all facets of building out
Akamai's highly-distributed global platform, including planning, logistics, deployment, and strategic operator relationships with over 1,100 networks in 80 countries. The Akamai Intelligent Platform delivers over three trillion interactions daily, with peak traffic exceeding 13 Terabits per second.
Mr. Freedman joined Akamai in 1999 to lead the Company's Network Architecture team. He has served as a Chief Architect on Akamai's Architecture Board since 2002, providing technical vision, oversight, and review for engineering and operations efforts across Akamai. He has led the Global Network organization since 2006.
Prior to joining Akamai, Mr. Freedman was a member of a computational research group at Argonne National Labs and a lecturer in the Masters Program in Computer Science at the University of Chicago.
Mr. Freedman holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Chicago.
