As the Senior Vice President of Finance and Revenue, Reed Farnsworth is primarily responsible for financial modeling, contract negotiations, cost analysis, and operation optimization for Surf Air. He also provides executive guidance with airport and FBO relations and human resources concerns.
Prior to joining Surf Air, Reed was a Financial
Analyst in the Fiscal Section of the Banking and Payment Operations Section of the Federal Reserve. As part of the fiscal team, he analyzed and assessed the Reserve Bank budgets and policies as well as identified and assessed the budget, schedule and business requirements risk for the Treasury’s cash modernization project. He then drafted and executed project plans to effectively manage and mitigate the risk. Reed also spent three years with The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C., where he was a Financial Systems Analyst in the Bank Credit and Internal Accounting Unit. He was the unit’s lead analyst for reporting to the Monetary Affairs Division on money mark mutual funds, discount window borrowings, and large banks in excess of $40 billion.
From 2006 to 2008, Reed worked as a Financial Analyst and Consultant for Hollister Group LLC in Vienna, Virginia, where he performed market research for a large Puerto Rican bank. He documented valuation modeling methodologies, managed the evaluation of prospect mortgage servicing rights vendors, and presented market research/analysis to senior-level management.
Reed also spent the past three years volunteering with Singular Humanitarian Experience (SHe). A co-founder of the organization, he was the Expedition Leader for efforts to promote economic development in Guatemala, Nepal, and Kenya.
Reed received a B.S. in Finance from Brigham Young University and a Masters in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University.
