Ren Riley, General Partner, joined Oak in 1999 and became a General Partner in 2006. He currently focuses on investments in the consumer Internet, digital media, and enterprise software and services sectors.
Ren currently serves on the Boards of Centric Software, Gazillion Entertainment, MyLife.com, Moxie Software, Photobucket, Sutherland Global
Services, and YoYi Media. He was on the Boards of Digital Media Group (acquired by VisionChina), iCrossing (acquired by Hearst), Parlano (acquired by Microsoft), Talisma (acquired by Moxie Software), and U.S. Auto Parts (NASD: PRTS). Ren works closely with several Oak portfolio companies including Aspect Software, MobiTV, Rearden Commerce, SmartDrive, and Zumobi. He is also actively involved with Oak’s investments in China including Lianlian Pay, SMIT, Great Gate Network, and SunSun Lighting. Some of Ren’s past portfolio activity includes Allyes (acquired by Focus Media), Cobalt (acquired by ADP), Fastclick (acquired by ValueClick), and Tele Atlas (acquired by TomTom).
Prior to joining Oak, Ren was a Senior Associate with Robertson Stephens, a technology-focused investment bank. He worked in the corporate finance division and executed several public and private equity offerings as well as M&A transactions in the Internet, technology, business, and information services sectors. Ren graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA in Government.
