Scott Farrar is the founder and president of Farrar Scientific, Inc. where he originated the technology platform upon which the Cool Containers, LLC PharmaPort™ 360 shipping container operates.
Today, as founder and Chief Technology Officer of Cool Containers, LLC. Farrar oversees all design, technical development, testing, controls and systems
integration associated with the PharmaPort™ 360.
Farrar has spent his entire professional career in design and development of environmental control systems specializing in refrigeration circuits and controls for storage of high value biologicals, pharmaceuticals and life science products.
He has been instrumental in development of industry standards for refrigeration component applications using Energy Balance™ computer-based modeling to optimize design by simulating physical properties and performance of refrigerants, compressors and allied components.
He is a graduate of Penn State University with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering where he concentrated on thermal sciences.
Prior to establishing his own company, Farrar served in research, development and product optimization positions for Spectronics, Inc. and Forma Scientific, Inc. (now Thermo Fisher).
He has developed numerous innovative designs for application of single-stage and cascade refrigeration systems used in ultra-low and cryogenic storage freezers used in the pharmaceutical industry, and in cold chain storage, data acquisition and documentation required for FDA 21CFR compliance for IQ/PQ/OQ criteria.
