Shigeki Terashi was born on February 16, 1955. He graduated from Kobe
University with a master’s degree in engineering in March 1980, and joined Toyota
Motor Corporation (TMC) in April the same year.
Shigeki Terashi was seconded to Toyota Technical Center, U.S.A., Inc. (TTC) in
October 2000. In January 2005, he was appointed executive chief
engineer of
Toyota Development Center 1 at TMC. In June 2008, he became a managing
officer of TMC, and executive vice president of Toyota Motor Engineering &
Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA, formerly TTC). In May 2011, he was
made president and COO of TEMA. In April 2012, he was appointed chief officer of
TMC’s North America Operations Group, president and COO of Toyota Motor
North America, Inc., and president and CEO of TEMA.
In April 2013, he became a senior managing officer at TMC, and was appointed
chief officer of the Corporate Planning Division, Research Division, Environmental
Affairs Division, Product & Business Planning Division, and the Design Quality
Innovation Division. In June the same year, he was made a member of the board
of directors.
