In an effort to create more employment opportunities and overall chances at success for the Native American community in Minneapolis, Minnesota, American Indian OIC Inc, or AIOIC, was created with the purpose of training students for jobs and to help them find placement. And that is exactly what they’ve been doing for the past several decades.
Among the vocational education programs available are majors such as Small Business Ownership, Human Services Technician, Admin Assistant, Admin Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Health Occupations, Trained Medication Aide, Home Health Aide, and First Aid.
The programs last anywhere from one week to nine months, helping students to pick a great career program that fits within their schedule without having to pull apart their lives in order to embark on the next part of their journey.
There are also programs to help prepare for the GED and other entrance assessment exams.
Job placement programs, like the career development center, workforce investment act, Minnesota family investment program, and Minneapolis employment training program, are available for every student to find employment.
