Berkshire Biomedical develops a medication dispensing system designed for medical providers to virtually manage therapeutic regimens for patients in the home or clinic. The company's lead product under development, the Computerized Oral Prescription Administration System (COPA), is a hand-held, automated, personalized oral liquid dispensing
system designed to deliver controlled and non-controlled liquid oral medications to only the Authenticated Intended User upon confirmation of dual biometric identifications (fingerprint and dentition). The COPA system integrates cellular technology for real-time, secure transmission of usage data and physician-driven dosage adjustments, and a cloud-based, HIPAA-compliant, encrypted Database Management System to store data for advanced analytics. The company intends to initially focus on the treatment of acute and chronic pain, as well as the treatment for opioid use disorder through the delivery of methadone in Medication Assisted Therapy. The COPA system is currently under development and has not been reviewed by the FDA.
