A small, selective school, George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon, offers a truly integrated, Christian education where academics, creative pursuits, social activities and service all come together.
George Fox awards bachelor’s degrees in the sciences, the liberal, fine and performing arts and in human service fields as well.
Graduate degrees
are awarded in ministerial studies, education and counseling among others.
Carrying out its commitment to service and to integrated education, George Fox offers such innovative and integrated academic programs as the one in Servant Engineering. Through this program, students invent and design technologies to help populations in need. One group, for example, designed a reading device for the blind.
Integrating social and creative activities, George Fox provides many opportunities for students to socialize while also engaging in theatre, music, dance and other creative pursuits. Additionally, students may participate in spiritual organizations and student clubs.
Since George Fox is selective in its admissions process, the average GPA of an admitted student is 3.6. Other factors that are taken into account in the admissions process are ACT or SAT scores and extracurricular activities.
The majority of financial aid is given out through school scholarships based on academic merit and federal grants based on financial need. Loans and work-study awards are also given to a certain percentage of students.
