Morehouse School of Medicine is a nationally recognized historically black institution that brings ethnic diversity to biomedical research, addresses health disparities through successful community engagement research, and serves as a pipeline for training minority researchers. Georgia Tech is a national leader in biomedical engineering and the application of innovative systems engineering to healthcare solutions. UGA has a proven track record in outstanding basic and translational research and, as the State’s land-grant institution, offers a robust statewide network that enhances community outreach, service, and research. These institutions extend their current partnerships in healthcare, education, and cutting-edge interdisciplinary research to synergize Georgia CTSA.

Created in 2017 as one of a national consortium striving to improve the way biomedical research is conducted across the country. The consortium, funded through the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, part of the National Institutes of Health's Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA), shares a common vision to translate laboratory discoveries into treatments for patients, engage communities in clinical research efforts and train the next generation of clinical investigators.
