Guilford County Schools is said to be the third-largest school in North Carolina that caters approximately 72, 000 students. Consecutively, the institution employs the 2nd largest workforce that equates to more than 10,000 full- and part-time employees who enthusiastically share the district’s mission which is to "to graduate responsible
citizens prepared to succeed in higher education or the career of their choice".
GCS is currenlty operating 124 campuses in both urban and rural areas, which includes elementary schools serving grades K through 5, and in some instances, pre-K through 5. The organization offers parents and students a wide range of educational choices that are not usually found in public school systems, including 53 magnet and choice programs.
