Chicago, Frankfurt, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Tokyo, Singapore , Mumbai and Sydney. Its managing partner is Varun Chandra, and its chairman is Lord Paul Deighton.
Its advice is delivered by an in-house team of experienced professionals – drawn from diverse backgrounds including banking, private equity, strategy consulting, government, the law and the not-for-profit sector – and is informed by insights gathered by a global network of well-connected individuals.
The executive team also benefit from the expertise of Hakluyt’s International Advisory Board, which includes well-respected leaders from the worlds of business, government and academia, and is chaired by Niall FitzGerald KBE.
Over more than 25 years, business leaders have turned to Hakluyt to advise on their most complex and important decisions, across a wide range of issues such as M&A, market entry and exit, shareholder insights, regulatory and policy issues, disputes, senior hires, digital and cyber risk, sustainability, and more.
The firm's blue-chip client base includes around 40% of the world’s largest 100 companies by market capitalisation, 45% of the FTSE 100, and a third of the DAX 30. It also works with over three quarters of the top 20 private equity firms in the world by assets under management, and many of the most respected sovereign wealth and pension funds.
In 2023, the firm announced the launch of a new investment arm, Hakluyt Capital, which invests alongside leading venture capital funds in Series B to D companies with international ambitions and high growth potential. Hakluyt will support the fund’s portfolio companies with introductions to prospective customers and partners, and strategic advice on a range of issues.
The firm’s latest set of financial results for the year ended June 2022 show a 28% increase in profits, following growing demand for high-level advisory support in an increasingly complex global business environment.
Beyond its commercial activities, the firm provides pro bono strategic advice and support to a number of philanthropic and cultural organisations around the world.
