Few schools can equal Haverford College’s sense of community. Haverford’s Quaker roots place a high value on camaraderie and fellowship, and it shows on campus. With almost all of students living on-campus and more than 145 clubs and organizations, college life at Haverford is vibrant, active and close-knit.
Haverford College’s emphasis on
community carries into its academics, as well. The school maintains a low student-to-faculty ratio of about 8:1. Nearly all of Haverford’s classes have fewer than 25 students, and about 20% of classes have five students or fewer. These small classes allow for a discussion-based education and a closer, more personal relationship with your professors.
Haverford is constantly finding ways to make tuition more affordable. Its most recent adjustment is to replace student loans with grants in financial aid packages. With fewer loans, you can get through college without worrying about racking up debt.
The application review process at Haverford is thorough and detailed. Though academic excellence is the main consideration, Haverford’s admissions officers consider each applicant as comprehensively as possible. An on-campus interview is highly recommended to help Haverford’s admissions committee get to know you.
