Rabbi Rose: Founding Director of Miller Center for Interreligious Learning and Leadership
If you want to receive an education shaped by intensive study in Jewish texts, receive professional training designed to prepare you for leadership within the Jewish community, or define your identity by exploring Jewish culture, arts, and music, then the Hebrew College in Newtonville, Massachusetts, is a great choice.
The college is rooted in
the Hebraist-Zionist movement of the 19th and 20th centuries, although it welcomes all forms of Jewish expression to encourage dynamic exchange and respect for other points of view.
Honoring its commitment to refining Jewish identity, most of the college’s degree programs and certificates require instruction in the Hebrew language. Most classes are conducted in English, although some advanced graduate programs are taught solely in Hebrew.
Programs of study include: graduate studies in the Rabbinical school, the Hebrew Language, School of Jewish Music, School of Jewish Education, and Jewish Studies.
Bachelor’s of arts degrees are available in Jewish Studies and Jewish Teacher Education and Professional Development.
Students may transfer undergraduate credits to Hebrew College. In some cases, you may complete a combined bachelor’s and master’s degree if a substantial number of undergraduate credits transfer.
Financial aid is available for eligible students.
