Innovation Saskatchewan was established in 2009 as a government agency that provides recommendations and advice to the Saskatchewan Government regarding its strategic direction in the areas of research, development, science, and technology. Innovation Saskatchewan is also involved with the demonstration and the commercialization of new technologies
and facilitates in the co-ordination of the province's innovation activities. The Saskatchewan Advantage Innovation Fund (SAIF) and Agtech Growth Fund (AGF) support commercialization of game-changing technological innovations in the province's core economic sectors. AGF operates in parallel as a research and development funding program designed specifically to accelerate the commercialization of technological innovations in the province's agricultural sector.
