Alpesh Patel founded the mi-Fone brand in April 2008, when he saw a gap in the market for affordable mobile devices for the majority of Africa’s 1.3 billion population who earns less than $200 per month. The core team has extensive knowledge of telecommunications and experience within the industry.

mi-Fone was set up using the founder’s own personal savings and some strategic partnerships both in China and key African countries.
