About the Company
MicroZap is a biotech company that uses directional microwaves delivered at varying doses and intensities to target disease-causing microorganisms with great precision. It was spun off from patented technology developed through food sterilization research at the International Center for Food Industry Excellence.
MicroZap’s technology makes food
safe by killing E. coli, salmonella, and listeria. It is also designed to kill MRSA on fabrics such as sheets, towels, and scrubs, through its addition to clothes dryers and washing machines.
MicroZap was founded in 2008 and is based in Lubbock, Texas. It is currently owned by Texas Tech University.
