You might think that a small school would be limited in resources, but Newberry College uses its size to its advantage. A low enrollment of about 1,000 affords students a more personalized educational experience, and enables the college to adapt to changing academic needs.
Newberry also features diverse academics for a school of its size, with
more than 55 areas of study available. Many of these areas are academically oriented and rooted in the liberal arts, but students with specific career goals can pursue a pre-professional program in Law, Pharmacy, Seminary, Physical Therapy and more. The Summerland Honors Program is also a good option for more intellectually motivated students.
College life at Newberry emphasizes engagement and collaboration, both with faculty and students. More than 50 student organizations exist on campus, from religious to athletic interests, so there are plenty of ways to get involved outside of the classroom.
Making tuition affordable is a priority for Newberry College. The school offers financial aid to most of its students. The available programs include scholarships, grants, loans and student employment. If you’d like to be considered for financial aid, make sure to file the FAFSA by March 15.
Newberry College strongly recommends a campus visit as your first step in applying to the school. After you’ve seen the campus, sat in on a few classes and determined that Newberry is the right place for you, you can fill out the admissions application with the additional required documents listed on the college’s website.
