Noeon Research is an ambitious deep-tech company based in Tokyo. We are exploring fundamentally new ways to create capable AI systems. Our core belief is that the next generation of highly capable intelligent systems can be built only by combining discrete knowledge representation with neural networks to leverage the strengths of both approaches
with a strong emphasis on the former.
Noeon Research is neither an LLM-based nor a Good-Old-Fashioned AI deep-tech startup. We are building Noeon – a novel natively agentic AI system with general capabilities based on a dozen carefully picked foundational principles from mathematical category theory, knowledge representation, and computational linguistics. Principles such as discrete knowledge representation, explicit goal formulation and storage, and separation of capabilities and knowledge allow us to create a scalable AI system without compromising its interpretability, transparency, and safety.
