Nota serves as Denmark’s national library and expertise center for individuals with print disabilities, including those who are visually impaired, dyslexic, or otherwise unable to read standard printed text. The organization provides access to a collection exceeding 50,000 accessible materials, encompassing audiobooks, e-books, and Braille books,
covering both fiction and non-fiction, as well as educational resources for students. Nota also produces and distributes newspapers, magazines, and music scores in accessible formats, and develops synthetic speech technologies to enhance accessibility. In January 2024, Nota became part of the Royal Danish Library, continuing its mission under the Nota Service division. Membership is available at no cost to individuals with documented reading impairments, and services are accessible via web platforms and mobile applications. Through these offerings, Nota aims to promote equal access to literature and information for all citizens.
