But in ancient times, when the misery index rose above tolerable levels, the Jews gave a sigh and then soldiered on (after all, someone had to build the
pyramids). The collective sigh was OY!, and if you understand the feeling of OY! then you understand the camaraderie and satisfaction of sharing it. OY! gives us a way to express to our friends, neighbors, acquaintances, political figures – anyone – that we are sick and tired of the misery and we are not going to take it anymore. We need to vent, to lament and we need our world to hear us. We need the OY! app to rally that collective sigh because sometimes the world is miserable.
