Populous provides design services for sports facilities. Its project portfolio includes aquatic, athletics/track and field, Australian football league, baseball, basketball, collegiate, convention and exhibition centers, cricket, event bids and overlay, football (American), football (soccer), fairgrounds and equestrian centers, horse racing, ice hockey, motor racing, rugby, speed skating, and tennis sports.
Jerry Anderson founded Hok Sports Facilities in 1983 that became Populous in January 2009, with its headquarters in Kansas City in Missouri with additional offices in Boston, San Francisco, New York, and Pittsburgh. It is a former subsidiary of Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum.
