Rx Cost Containment is a specialty company that provides required independent acute/ chronic toxicology screening for patients / injured workers on opioid medications, as well as educational services, direct interface with Employers, the Insurance Industry, Third Party Administrators, and Self Insured Employers. We also work directly with
physician offices and clinics. We are unique in that we work to provide independent toxicology screening (drug testing) as neutral collection sites away from doctors' offices at over 2,100 sites nationwide.
Toxicology diagnostics is rapidly growing niche business in the "Acute/ Chronic Pain Management Care" segment of the healthcare industry, including pain management arenas within the workers' compensation and personal injury markets. The increase in opioid scripting, partly in response to demand for, and use of, Schedule II drugs by the public at large, has created a significant increase in the cost of claims. Per evidence based medicine, drug screening by urinalysis, is a component of pain management therapy when opioids are involved.
Physicians are profiting from toxicology either directly or indirectly, in ways substantially identical to the manner in which they profit from dispensing medication.
