Scottish Friendly is a financial services group based in Glasgow, Scotland, founded in 1862. The group manages investments on behalf of retail consumers and provides open architecture wrap services.
As a mutual society, the group does not have shareholders, rather is owned by its 400,000 members and as such its profits are distributed amongst
its policy holders in the form of bonuses.
The group offers a wide range of investment products including SIPPs, Life Insurance, the Scottish Friendly Investment Funds ICVC, an OEIC and ISA (Individual Savings Account) and CTF (Child Trust Fund) wrappers. The group's wrap service includes partnerships with Aviva and Nucleus Financial
Through its sponsorship of The Scottish Friendly Children's Book Tour, an outreach project organised by the Scottish Book Trust, the group helps promote and support reading and literacy in disadvantaged areas in Scotland. Scottish Friendly has also sponsored the 'Meet Our Authors' programme, which started in March 2011 as a scheme to allow young people, parents and teachers to meet some of the world's leading children's authors.
