Company Performance Metrics
Student LunchBox is dedicated to addressing college hunger and expanding access to nutritious food and essential resources for students across Los Angeles County. As the cost of living continues to rise, many students face financial pressures that make it difficult to consistently afford healthy meals while balancing tuition, housing,
transportation, and other educational expenses. Student LunchBox was created to help remove these barriers by delivering reliable, campus based support that allows students to remain focused on their education and future goals.
Through farmers market-style mobile markets, the organization provides free fresh produce, protein, groceries, and other nutritious items directly on college campuses. These distributions are designed to create welcoming and accessible environments where students can receive support with dignity and consistency. By bringing resources directly where students study and live, Student LunchBox reduces transportation barriers and ensures students can access healthy food more easily throughout the academic year.
In addition to food distributions, Student LunchBox supports campus basic needs efforts through ongoing deliveries of food and essential supplies. The organization also provides hygiene products, toiletries, clothing, and other necessities that help students maintain stability during times of financial hardship. Recognizing that student well being extends beyond meals alone, Student LunchBox works to address the broader challenges that can affect academic focus and persistence.
A major part of the organization’s impact comes through food recovery and community partnerships. Student LunchBox collaborates with food donors, businesses, colleges, and community organizations to redirect quality surplus food and usable goods away from landfills and into the hands of students who need them most. This approach not only expands access to healthy meals but also contributes to reducing food waste and strengthening community engagement around student support.
Student LunchBox also creates opportunities for students to become directly involved in service and leadership. Student volunteers and ambassadors help support distributions, outreach, and operations, building stronger campus communities while gaining valuable experience in teamwork, communication, and public service.
Today, Student LunchBox serves students from campuses throughout Los Angeles County and continues to grow its network of partnerships and services. By combining campus-integrated support, food recovery, and basic needs programming, the organization is helping students reduce financial stress, improve well-being, and remain focused on achieving academic and career success.
