SweepSmart is a Dutch-Indian Social enterprise on a mission to solve the waste problem in emerging and developing countries while creating decent jobs for waste pickers. We co-create and implement future-proof, scalable ‘zero waste’ solutions based on European recycling best practices reinvented to work
in the local context.
We've supported the set up of 17 'Smart Waste Centres' in Indonesia and India and are starting one in Ghana. Former waste pickers work in the centres equipped with Europe-meets-local design equipment, like a sorting conveyor belt that is small, cheap and manufactured locally. We offer design, project management, consulting and auditing services and a toolkit of equipment, IT, SOPs and training.
