Tapply is building the first platform for universal, on-demand tech support—transforming how professionals access expertise when they need it most. Like the Genius Bar for any software tool, Tapply enables users to connect instantly with vetted experts for live, hands-on coaching without leaving their workspace. Sessions function like phone calls:
users connect when they need help, hang up when they're done, and payment processes automatically based on time spent. No contracts, no upfront costs, no lengthy vetting processes.
Operating as a distributed peer-to-peer marketplace similar to Uber and Airbnb, Tapply takes a 10% platform fee while making it effortless for anyone to monetize their software expertise in their spare time. The platform removes traditional barriers on both sides: users can start sessions risk-free with customizable grace periods and per-minute metering, while providers see a personalized feed of requests matched to their skillset—swipe right to bid, left to skip. This dramatically expands the supply pool beyond full-time consultants to include students, professionals with spare time, and anyone with valuable software knowledge.
The problem Tapply solves is massive. According to McKinsey, professionals lose nearly two hours daily stuck on software problems—almost 60 full workdays wasted annually. Despite spending $58 billion on tech support, 78% of employees lack sufficient expertise to use their daily tools effectively. Traditional freelance platforms like Upwork require contracts, escrow, and lengthy negotiations, making them uneconomical for the quick coaching sessions people actually need. Tapply's core insight is that latency is the bottleneck: reduce time-to-help from hours to minutes, and an entirely new market emerges.
