These are non-living, shelf-stable nutrition ingredients designed to work locally in the digestive tract, where they help break down targeted dietary or metabolic compounds before they can cause problems. This approach avoids the variability and stability challenges common with live probiotics. We develop our medical foods using scalable, food-grade manufacturing and established regulatory pathways. Our products are designed for physician-supervised dietary management in accordance with FDA regulations. Our lead program targets dietary oxalate and kidney stone risk. StoneShield is the first application of this approach, with additional programs in development for other diet-linked chronic conditions. This lead program serves as the first proof point for a broader platform designed to address other conditions in the same targeted way.
