Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, California offers a one-of-a-kind educational experience.
A Catholic school, Thomas Aquinas offers a uniform curriculum for all of its students. Saint Thomas' curriculum is interdisciplinary, drawing from history, literature, math, politics, science and theology.
The classroom experience is also unique.
Students do not buy textbooks and students will never attend a lecture. All classes are conducted exclusively as discussions, complemented by out-of-class tutorials, modeled after the Socratic method of study.
A Thomas Aquinas education makes for well-rounded individuals with a comprehensive intellectual, ethical and spiritual understanding of the world, both then and now. Graduates are also equipped for an array of professions and graduate programs.
Since Thomas Aquinas subscribes to the notion of a well-rounded education, out-of-class activities are designed to nurture students spiritually, artistically and physically. There are theatre, music, art and religious programs and activities as well as academic lectures and athletic programs.
Academic records, SAT or ACT scores, letters of recommendation and an application must be submitted for consideration. Students may also apply for financial aid.
